Corporate COntroller
Summary
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for multi-site accounting preparation and consolidation. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all financial policies, maintaining internal controls, establishing operating budgets and accurately forecasting and reporting financial performance.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for personally coordinating the completion of all plant accounting and financial reporting activities related to the US Operations. Specifically cost accounting, financial closing and reporting, internal control, tax, fixed asset accounting, inventory management and related activities.
- Consolidate financial results from US, UK and Mexico operations to prepare accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Participates in operations staff meetings, providing financial leadership on cost and financial performance.
- Establish and maintain internal controls consistent with corporate requirements and good business practice.
- Lead execution of all required budgets including manufacturing expense and capital budgets.
- Responsible for the physical inventory process.
- Have plant floor presence; lend support to front line leadership group.
- Show support for all department and plant initiatives. Volunteer to lead or co-lead initiatives.
- Coordinate and provide leadership on all internal, external and self-assessment audits. Address control weaknesses with appropriate action.
- Provide training and feedback to users of financial information.
- Ensure compliance with all established financial and accounting policies, procedures and practices applicable to the location.
- Develop and maintain cost standards that closely reflect actual costs to manufacture and distribute product.
- Review and analysis of variances from standard.
- Timely submission of monthly financial results and all plant metrics and scorecard along with management reports.
- Work with the manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams to drive margin improvement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years’ experience in public accounting firm.
- Relevant experience with a $75+ million as controller or assistant controller.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Experience with standard cost accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written & presentation skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Leadership Skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency in all Microsoft applications – Excel, Access, Power Point.
- Experience with JD Edwards, SAP, or other large ERP software necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- BS or BA degree in Finance/Accounting, CPA qualified.
